Room to grow into the Hoodie

Leavers hoodies are bought by (or for) youngsters who are still growing. If they are primary school leavers then the bulk of their growth is still ahead of them. If they are leaving secondary school then they probably still have a couple of years growing (or filling out) to do. They, or their parents, buy a size or two larger than strictly needed to leave room for a bit of growth. It makes sense on a couple of fronts.

Extending the life of the hoodie

Firstly, it extends the life of the garment. The hoodies sold by the Leavers Hoodies Company are quality garments designed and made to last for years. Leaving a bit of growing room stretches the time your hoodie can be worn.

Value for money & environmental impact

Secondly, wearing your leavers’ hoodie for years provides great value for money. And, if you consider the environmental impact of the purchase, it is even better.

Clothes that are worn for a short time only and then disposed of have the largest environmental footprint, the biggest impact on climate change. Oversized Hoodies

There is a growing trend (or, more probably, the re-growth of a trend) to wear oversize clothing and especially oversized hoodies.

The hoodie has never really been seen as a tight-fitting garment that hugs the body and is tough to get into. Instead, they have generally been fairly loose-fitting and easy to put on.

However, there are plenty of people who are now buying and wearing their hoodies at least two sizes too big as a fashion statement. While this trend seems, to us, to be largely driven by females it isn’t solely girls/women who are getting into oversized hoodies.

These sizes allow for a comfortable, loose fit. They are not body/shape hugging. If you go up a couple of sizes you might be surprised just how loose it feels/wears.
